The DJ formerly known as Imhotep ("eem-ho-tehp") is a non-binary artist and DJ whose journey began in the heart of the Midwest, led them to the sunny beaches and dark alleys of Southern California's music scene and landed them in the hot desert of Arizona with a renewed spark for a lasting career.Growing up near the original birthplace of house music; they were immersed in the genre’s rich history from an early age. This deep connection sparked a lifelong obsession with crafting their own unique sound within the house and electronic music spectrum.In 2012, The DJ formerly known as Imhotep first touched a set of mixing gear,igniting a passion that continues to evolve. With over 13 years of DJing experience—10 of those rooted in California's dynamic underground scene—this soul has refined their skills and developed a signature style of mixing and music production.Balancing a whirlwind of activities, from DJing weddings to producing original tracks and researching the intricacies of the music industry, their journey has led them to perform at numerous events across Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange County, and Palm Springs, and even neighboring states such as Nevada and Arizona,carving out a space for their bold and boundary-pushing sound.
